14-year-old charged in West Point slaying

WEST POINT (AP) – West Point police say a 14-year-old has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting that happened last week.

Police Chief Tim Brinkley says 41-year-old Randy Kelly was found at his home Thursday with a gunshot wound to the head. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brinkley says bond was set at $250,000 for the teenager Monday by Municipal Judge Benny Jones. Brinkley declined to say where the teenager was being held.

He says the charge allows his department to charge the teenager as an adult. Police have not released his identity.
