2 arrested for indoor pot operation

MADISON, Miss. (AP) — Two people have been arrested in the operation of an indoor marijuana plot in Madison County.

Sheriff Randy Tucker says husband and wife, Henry and Beverly Monroe, are at the Madison County jail. He says authorities seized more than 165 pot plants on Monday from the couple’s home in Madison.

Tucker says the Monroes are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Madison County court. Both have been charged with manufacture of marijuana and possession.

Tucker says his office and police have developed information for several months on the operation and were tipped Monday that plants were being grown.

He says there were grow lights and an indoor water filtering system in the marijuana room.
