COLUMBUS — Two people have been arrested after sheriff’s deputies recovered a utility trailer reported missing by the Columbus-Lowndes Habitat for Humanity.
Sheriff’s investigator Lt. Tony Perkins says Chadquian Emerson of Starkville has been charged with felony taking of a motor vehicle and grand larceny. He says Ibe Conbingo Walker of Columbus has been charged with burglary of a business.
Perkins says the two men remain in the Lowndes County jail pending an initial court appearance.
Authorities say the trailer was recovered this week from a creek in Oktibbeha County where it was dumped after reportedly failed attempts to sell it in Jackson.
The trailer was reported missing over the weekend from a home-building site in Caledonia.
