CORINTH — Two people have been arrested for allegedly forging checks on the account of a man found dead last month in Burnsville.

Corinth Police Chief David Lancaster tells The Daily Corinthian that 51-year-old Linda F. Holt and 21-year-old Terry L. Sparks were arrested late last month and charged with uttering a forgery. Both have been released on bond.

Lancaster said the pair went to a local bank and cashed a check on the account of John Holt for $200. A short time later they returned to the same bank and attempted to cash a second check.

Lancaster said both checks were written on the account of the 84-year-old Holt, who was found dead last month in his home. Autopsy results indicate he was beaten to death.

No arrests have been made in Holt’s death.
