2 Burnsville men hurt in Friday crash

Alcorn StockThe Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a late Friday evening crash in Alcorn county that left two Burnsville men in critical condition.

Troopers responded to the crash about 11:15 p.m., on U.S. Highway 72 just east of the city limits of Corinth. Upon arriving, it appeared Matthew Linton, 26, was traveling eastbound when he apparently lost control of his 1988 Toyota 4-runner, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. Linton and a passenger, Billy Lambert, 50, were both ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

They were both transported to the MED in Memphis by air ambulance. They are listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing a seat belt.
