COLUMBUS — Two employees of Ruben’s Fish House have been arrested in an investigation into the May 31 death of a restaurant patron.

The Commercial Dispatch reports that Dylan Hicks and Joseph “Joey” Cox, both of Columbus, have been charged with selling/furnishing alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated person.

The maximum penalty for each, if convicted, would be a fine of $500 and six months in jail.

Hicks and Cox turned themselves in to Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control enforcement personnel Tuesday at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Bond for each was set at $650.

Authorities say 46-year-old John Caldwell of Columbus was found dead at the restaurant after participating in a drinking game with an off-duty Ruben’s employee.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
