IUKA, Miss. (AP) — A Tishomingo County Grand jury has indicted a woman and her daughter in the 2009 death of John Reeder Holt.

The Daily Corinthian reports 52-year-old Linda F. Holt and her daughter, 32-year-old Terry L. Sparks, have been indicted on charges of murder.

Sheriff’s deputies say the body of 83-year-old John Holt was found in his Burnsville home on Dec. 23, 2009. An autopsy showed he had been beaten to death.

Authorities say Linda Holt, who is John Holt’s daughter-in-law, and Sparks were arrested in January 2010 after allegedly cashing checks written on the John Holt’s account at a Corinth bank.
