3 left in search for new Columbus schools chief

By The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — John G. Ladner, the interim superintendent of the Moss Point School District, is no longer a candidate for superintendent of the Columbus Municipal School District.

The Commercial Dispatch reports reports that leaves three candidates — Isaac “Ike” Leon Haynes, superintendent of the Jefferson Davis County School District; Pamela Taylor Henson, director of instructional support for the Baldwin County Board of Education in Alabama; and Martha Liddell, current interim superintendent for the Columbus city schools.

Interviews will be held next week.

Haynes will be interviewed May 22 followed by Henson on May 24 and Liddell on May 25.

Liddell was named interim superintendent a year ago, replacing Del Phillips, who resigned to become director of schools for the Sumner County School District in Gallatin, Tenn.
