3 Mississippi fishermen die in 2 accidents

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Three fishermen died in two separate weekend accidents.

Authorities say divers were still looking Sunday for an 18-year-old Jackson man whose name had not yet been released.

The bodies of 25-year-old Jermaine Walton and 39-year-old James East, both of Vicksburg, were found Saturday.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says Walton and East were in a small aluminum boat that overturned Saturday shortly after leaving shore on Long Lake with three men on board.

He told The Clarion-Ledger that the boat was meant for two occupants and may have been overloaded. He says the survivor was the only one wearing a life vest.

Valerie Miller of Jackson told WJTV-TV her son was fishing Saturday in a creek near their home, and went under while trying to catch turtles.
