A small child suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-car accident Sunday.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the head-on collision, which occurred on Highway 25 in Itawamba County.
Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 6 p.m. on Highway 25 South, near New Salem Church. Upon arriving it appeared Spencer Harlow, 24, of Mantachie, was traveling south in a 2006 Mazda, when his vehicle apparently collided head-on with a north-bound 2010 Ford Mustang driven by Treviaris Key, 18, of Aberdeen.
Harlow and Key were both transported by ambulance to NMMC with moderate injuries.
A 3-year-old passenger in Harlow’s vehicle was airlifted to NMMC and then transported to LeBonheur in Memphis with life-threatening injuries. The child was not properly fastened in a child restraint.
