BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say a 4-year-old boy died after two recreational boats collided in a bayou in Hancock County this weekend.
A news release from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources says Blake Richardson of Bay St. Louis sustained critical injuries in Saturday’s crash. He was transported to Hancock Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the release, the child was one of three people on one of the boats. Two men sustained minor injuries.
The other boat had six people onboard. They were all thrown from the boat and sustained minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the DMR Marine Patrol and the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
