TUPELO – Police are investigating an apparent domestic altercation that ended in a hit and run.
A 6-year-old child received non-life threatening injuries when she was hit by a car at her home at 118 East Garrison St., said Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson. The child’s father,
Tony Pulliam, 34, was arrested in connection to the hit and run about an hour later.
Johnson said it appeared there had been a domestic altercation between the child’s mother and Pulliam when Pulliam dropped the child off at
her home, and the child was struck when he put the car in drive to leave. Pulliam left the scene and was arrested near the Pontotoc County line, Johnson said. No charges have been filed against Pulliam in relation to the hit and run, because the incident is under investigation.
He was arrested on two warrants.
The child was checked out by medics at the scene and was not transported to the hospital.
