Aberdeen man arrested for theft

ABERDEEN – Jose Pruitt, 49, Aberdeen, was arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on July 9, 2012, and charged with both breaking and entering of a commercial building along with a felony malicious mischief charge, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Pruitt is alleged to have stolen copper wiring from US Polymers, Inc. in Aberdeen.

The theft was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on July 9. The damage to the plant from the copper wiring being stripped was approximately $250,000 to $300,000.

Pruitt is currently being held at Monroe County Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
