Aberdeen police investigate armed robbery

Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to an attempted armed robbery shortly after 10 Monday night at the Jr. Food Mart on Meridian Street.

According to Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle, no one was hurt in the incident, but the assailant fired one shot at a store clerk. Two subjects escaped on foot following the incident.

Officers have questioned witnesses and have reviewed surveillance footage from the convenience store and are currently searching for the subjects.
