Aberdeen Toddler wounded; suspect arrested

ABERDEEN – According to Aberdeen police Chief Henry Randle, a St. Louis man has been charged in connection with a Monday shooting that injured a three-year-old at Southview Apartments.

Anthony Strong, 34, faces aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon charges following the shooting after being arrested in Memphis.

The child is listed in good condition at Batson Children’s Hospital after being struck in the left shoulder by a bullet.

Monday’s shooting was related to a June 18 shooting in Aberdeen that left a 17-year-old dead. The previous shooting is still under investigation by the Aberdeen Police Department. Randle is waiting on autopsy results from the previous shooting determining if it was a suicide.
