ABERDEEN – After months of indecisive rounds of amp”back and forth, amp” the Aberdeen Zoning Board has ruled not to approve the variance for the trailer at 606 Forrest Street.
The vote on the issue was 5-2, with husband and wife Eric and Leigh Matthews voting to accept the house trailer.
However, one board member said the vote may not be the last word on the structure.
amp”The small manufactured home owner will probably sue the city for damages because (building inspector) Terry Lenoir gave him a permit to improve the structure prematurely, amp” zoning board member Jim Edwards said. amp”The two yes votes were Eric and Leigh Mathews who have recently brought an illegal trailer into the city limits as well and are also looking for permission and a variance to have it hooked up to city utilities.amp”
When the manufactured home issue first began, Lenoir told WCBI-TV that amp”there was no problems with the house trailer.amp” Lenoir has come under criticism from many Aberdeen citizens over not only the trailer, but several other zoning issues.
