By NEMS Daily Journal

TUPELO – Deadline to vote absentee is July 27 for the July 30 Lee County Schools bond election.
Circuit Clerk Joyce Loftin said voters in 31 of 38 Lee County precincts will be eligible to participate in the election aimed at new funding for school district projects.
Deadline to register to vote in the election has passed.
Loftin said the circuit clerk’s office in the Lee County Justice Center is open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays to assist absentee voters. Special Saturday hours from 8 a.m. until noon July 20 and July 27 will allow other opportunities to vote absentee, she said.
Mississippi law requires at least a 60 percent approval vote for passage of a bond issue.
