CORINTH – The Corinth-Alcorn County Airport is set to complete a resurfacing of asphalt taxiways near hangers with approval of matching funds from Corinth and Alcorn County.

The Alcorn County Board of Supervisors on Monday approved its 2.5 percent match of $8,991, with the same amount having been recently approved by the Corinth board as its share of the local match.

The funds are part of a two-year project totaling $359,627, with 90 percent funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, 5 percent by the state and 5 percent by the city and county, which jointly own the airport.

The engineering design phase of the project was completed last year and the construction is expected to be completed by the fall, with APAC of Mississippi as the sole bidder on milling and overlay work.
