LEAKESVILLE — Authorities say a 6-year-old Alabama girl has been treated for minor injuries after being trapped for four hours in a deep hole in Mississippi during a field trip to a vegetable farm on Thursday.

The Mississippi Press reports that the hole in Greene County, Miss., was at least 30 feet deep and 12 to 15 inches in diameter.

The girl has not been identified, but authorities say she is from Baldwin County, Ala.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene and the Hattiesburg Fire department used equipment to pull the girl out of the hole with a rope. The girl was in the hole about 4 hours.
