BILOXI — A driver was hospitalized after his car collided with a freight train in Biloxi.

Police say 46-year-old John Woods, of Prichard, Ala., was thrown from his vehicle following Saturday’s collision. He was listed in serious, but stable condition at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.

CSX spokesman Gary Sease told The Sun Herald that the train originated in New Orleans and was headed to Atlanta. Police said the crossing has lights and bells that were working, but there was no guard arm.
