Alcohol election expected in Tishomingo County soon

A Tishomingo County man who has worked almost three years to gather petition signatures to compel a countywide vote on the sale of beer and liquor has achieved his goal.

Charles “Tubby” Aldridge will meet with the Board of Supervisors on Monday to submit his petition having 2,648 names of county registered voters, more than the 2,593 required, to request an election date be set.

Aldridge began gathering signatures in August 2010 and vowed he would continue until an election was held, regardless of the election outcome.
