Alcorn Central students to display published books

CORINTH – Alcorn Central Middle School students will display their original books Saturday at Harper Square Mall.

Teacher Linda Bray said all 150 sixth-graders participated in the writing project. Horizon, an education support group, contributed a $200 grant to provide materials for the project.

Bray said students selected topics of interest to themselves and then completed research before penning their works to paper. Some of the subjects include sports, country music singers, environmental concerns and fiction pieces.

The students also made their own hardback covers for their books.

Their work will be displayed outside the Spice of Life Bookstore from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served.
