Alcorn County escaped juveniles captured

CORINTH – Two youths who briefly escaped from the Alcorn County Juvenile Detention Center on Saturday were captured and face additional charges.

The two males managed to overcome a detention officer with mace and escaped the facility about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff Charles Rinehart said. They were captured in the vicinity by about 11:20 p.m. and returned to custody.

Additional charges against the two juveniles include assaulting an officer and felony jail escape.

Assisting the sheriff’s department were the Corinth Police Department, the Farmington Police Department and Alcorn County constables.
