A 34-year-old Alcorn County man will serve an additional three years in prison on a fondling charge, after his probation was revoked last year on a burglary charge he was already serving, according to the Alcorn County circuit clerk’s office.

Jeremiah Dodson was taken into custody Feb. 17, 2012, and charged by a grand jury March 20, 2012 on one count of sexual battery of a child under 14 and one count of fondling a person over age 18.

On Oct. 30, Dodson pleaded guilty in Alcorn County Circuit Court to the fondling charge, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with 12 years suspended and three to serve. The three-year sentence will run consecutive to the previous seven-year sentence on a burglary of a dwelling charge.

The sexual battery charge was retired.
