CORINTH – The Alcorn Narcotics Unit netted two drug arrests Monday with suspects already under court supervision.

Ryon Friar, 21, of Corinth, was the passenger in a vehicle stopped on U.S. Highway 72 West for speeding and reckless driving. During the officers’ search of Friar they allegedly found cocaine and marijuana.

Friar was charged with sale of a controlled substance on the warrant, and felony possession of cocaine. Bond was set at $10,000.

In a separate incident, Danny Wilbanks, 55, of Walnut, was arrested Monday after an alleged drug transaction in the parking lot of a local business.

Officers say they purchased morphine from Wilbanks previously, and arrested him for the prior sale. He was charged with one count sale of a controlled substance.

Wilbanks was on house arrest when he was stopped, and the Mississippi Department of Corrections put a hold on him.

Bond was set at $5,000, and he remains in Alcorn County Jail.
