CORINTH – The Alcorn County School Board voted on Monday to use the services of Pontotoc attorney Phillip L. Tutor as hearing officer in an employment dispute.

Superintendent Gina Rogers Smith declined to identify the employee who has requested a hearing over the employee’s contract not being renewed for the 2014-2015 school year.

Such hearings are held in executive session unless the employee requests an open session in writing.

Following the hearing, the hearing officer will submit a written recommendation to the school board, which the board may then act upon or reject.
