Alcorn schools seek interest savings

CORINTH – The Alcorn County School District may be able to realize $109,000 in interest savings this fiscal year by refinancing its bonds.
The board voted Monday to allow attorney Jimmy Price to request a resolution from the school district’s bond attorney that would be presented for approval at the January 2013 school board meeting.
Bond refinancing would be completed in April if the interest rates remain at the current low level to create the savings.
