Alcorn sheriff proposes law officer memorial

By NEMS Daily Journal

CORINTH – The Alcorn County sheriff has asked the county board for permission to construct a memorial to fallen law enforcement officers on the grounds of the new Alcorn County Justice Center.
Sheriff Charles Rinehart asked the board this week to consider selling a fenced-off plot of property on the grounds of the justice center that preserves three existing graves for that purpose.
Rinehart named two fallen law enforcement officers – Lane Caldwell and Clyde Null – among those who should be honored in this special way.
Board attorney Bill Davis will consult state law about the feasibility of the sheriff’s proposal.
