HOLLY SPRINGS – Marshall County authorities arrested two people in relation to a Georgia kidnapping Friday morning after receiving an “Amber Alert” report about the suspects’ vehicle.
“Deputies were notified to be on the lookout for the vehicle on U.S. Highway 78, that the subjects in the vehicle were wanted for kidnapping, and that a baby was inside the vehicle,” said Jimmy Warren of the Marshall County Sheriff Department. “The subjects were also listed on NCIC (National Crime Information Center).”
Within 10 minutes of the report, Marshall County and Mississippi Highway Patrol officers stopped the vehicle near the Red Banks exit and arrested two occupants. The infant in the car was secured unharmed and is in the care of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
Investigators from Marshall County Sheriff Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are collecting information on the case.
Identities of the two suspects and the baby have not been released.
