AMORY -Amory Police apprehended a teen-age runaway carrying a semiautomatic gun, alcohol and what could be a pipe bomb.
The teen-ager, who is from Shannon, tried to elude police by running from McDonald’s to Wendy’s, said Amory Chief Ronnie Bowen. He was caught at Wendy’s.
Police found a Tek 9 semiautomatic gun, beer and a device that could be an explosive in the juvenile’s car, Bowen said. Authorities are still examining the device to determine if it is an explosive.
The juvenile was being held Monday in the Monroe County Youth Court Detention Center in Aberdeen.
