AMORY – The Mississippi Development Authority has approved a $250,000 Rural Impact Fund Grant for Madison House Furniture LLC, a subsidiary of Townhouse Home Furnishings based in Smithville.
The grant will fund construction of a new access road on the property, resurfacing of 5th Avenue adjacent to the building and a rework of the truck ramp entrance from 4th Avenue South.
The furniture manufacturer opened with 20 employees and has committed to 85 jobs by the end of its second year in operation.
The project is in the contractor bid process with a bid to be awarded within the next two weeks by the Amory Board of Aldermen.
