Amory garbage ordinance gets revision

By Monore Journal

AMORY – The Amory Board of Aldermen has adopted a change to the city’s garbage collection ordinance that prohibits the use of unapproved bins at the curb.
The board has been working on this change for several weeks in an effort to get unsanitary and unsightly permanent trash holding bins removed.
“We’re not limiting the number of garbage cans they can have,” said Ward 3 Alderman Tony Poss. “It is only about limiting bins that are set on the city’s roadway.”
City Sanitation Dept. head Bobby Cox will be in charge of enforcing the ordinance changes. Anyone with a bin in violation of the new ordinance will be notified first, before the city removes it.
