Amory Library summer reading program set to begin

AMORY – The Amory Municipal Library is gearing up for its summer reading program that is called amp”Be Creative @ Your Library.amp” It will explore the worlds of music, art, magic, karate, drama, dance, books and more. It is open to children ages preschool through 12th grade. Teens entering grade 7 through high school can register for the teen program. The children’s group includes ages 3 through entering sixth grade. Both groups will be able to attend the special entertainment.
Registration for the program begins Tuesday, May 26. Last day to register is Saturday, July 18.
Special entertainment in June will be Inky the Clown on June 4 at 2 p.m.; Tae Kwon Do With Oliver Miller on Wednesday, June 10 at 1:30 p.m.; Wildlife Biologist Bob Tarter on June 18 at 3 p.m.; Music with Richard Graham on June 25 at 2:30 p.m. There will be no special program the first week in July. Magician David Strange on July 9 at 2 p.m.; Herpetologist Terry Vandeventer on July 16 at 2:30 p.m.; Music and Art with the Swartzendruber family on July 23 at 2 p.m.
The summer program will end on July 30 with a party with certificates distributed and refreshments.
Reading logs, which will be left at the library, are an important aspect of the summer reading program. A child must be registered to receive a reading log.
