According to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley, Raymond Barksdale III, 55, died as a result of multiple trauma sustained from a motor vehicle accident that occurred at 11:51 a.m.

Barksdale was the only occupant in a 1999 Plymouth minivan, which was traveling south on Doster Road. The van collided head on with a tree near the intersection of Doster and County Barn roads.
