Amory man facing possession of methamphetamine charges



AMORY- Amory Police and North MS Narcotics officers arrested Christopher Alexander Nelson, 23, of Amory for possession of 15 grams of methamphetamine (ICE). According to a release from Amory Police Department, Nelson is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell – Enhanced

The felony bond was set at $20,000.00 by Monroe County Justice Court Judge Robert Fowlkes.Officers became aware of a package sent through the mail which contained the controlled substance. After keeping the package under surveillance, officers were able to arrest Nelson when he picked up the package. The charge was enhanced due to proximity to a church when the subject was found in possession of the controlled substance.

Nelson is being held in the Amory city jail.
