AMORY – The Amory Board of Aldermen has set minimum fines for violations of the city’s new dangerous dog ordinance that was adopted last month.
For a first conviction, the minimum fine is $100, plus court costs, with a maximum of $1,000. On subsequent offenses, the minimum fine goes up – $250 for second conviction and $500 for a third conviction.
The amount of a person’s fine is still dependent on what the judge in the case sets. The board’s action was only in setting the minimum for the fines.
