TUPELO – Latonuia Rucker’s lawsuit against Lee County and two jailers was dismissed Tuesday because it’s been settled.
Rucker sued in May 2007, saying she was beaten by Jailer Ronnie Partlow after she criticized him for violently dropping a teenage male inmate on the floor of the jail, where she was being held on a charge of telephone harassment and trespassing.
She claimed Tony Carleton, jail administrator, and a shift sergeant witnessed the beating.
Partlow and Carleton denied the allegations.
No details of the settlement were immediately available.
