A 19-year-old Russellville, Ark., resident was killed in a two-car accident in Benton County on Sunday night.
German Romero, 69, of Russellville, Ark., was traveling west on Highway 78 near Hickory Flat in a 1999 Toyota Four-Runner at about 8 p.m., said Trooper Ray Hall with the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The vehicle collided with a west-bound 1999 Chevrolet Caviler, driven by Jazmine Raford, 18, of Guntown, causing the SUV to overturn.
Romero and his wife were uninjured in the crash, but their daughter Jessica Romero, 19, was ejected from the vehicle and died from injuries sustained in the crash. Another teenage daughter was airlifted to LeBonheur in Memphis with serious injuries, Hall said. Both daughters were unbuckled.
Raford, who was wearing her seatbelt, was uninjured in the crash.
