TUPELO – Lee County School District Superintendent Jimmy Weeks said Thursday that Blake Whitt is no longer on the district’s approved list of substitute teachers.
Whitt, 24, was arrested on Wednesday on two sexual battery counts. The former substitute teacher is accused of crimes associated with an alleged sexual relationship with a female student at Mooreville High School, where he reportedly taught about five times this school year.
Weeks said Whitt was removed from the district’s substitute list on Tuesday, the day he found out about the allegations.
