Arrests made in Corinth home robbery case

By NEMS Daily Journal

CORINTH – Corinth police have identified and arrested two suspects – a sister and brother – in a Monday home robbery in which a man was threatened with his own gun.
Brandon McCollum, 26, and Candice McCollum, 24, both of North Parkway Street, Corinth, were arrested Wednesday. Bond was set at $10,000 each on a robbery charge and $5,000 each on possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge.
Detective Capt. Ralph Dance said apparently Monday night Candice McCollum knocked at the door of a residence on East Third Street, asking to come inside to use the restroom. When the man allowed her in, Brandon McCollum allegedly forced his way in behind her.
They were looking for his prescription medicines and in their search found his handgun, which they then used to threaten him.
After leaving the house with several bottles of prescription medicines, Dance said, information gathered led to the McCollums as suspects.
The case remains under investigation by Detective. Fred Serio.
