ASHLAND – Alderman Billy J. Taylor is one of the newest inductees in the Mississippi Municipal League’s Hall of Fame.
Taylor began serving the Ashland area in an elected position in 1959 as a justice court judge. Since serving as judge, Taylor has held public offices in the county and the town.
He served as Ashland’s mayor for four terms. Two of those terms were before he served as a county supervisor for two terms, the other two after. After serving as judge, mayor and supervisor, Taylor has been elected as an alderman three times.
