ASHLAND – A challenge filed by a resident challenging Ashland’s liquor vote last year was dismissed in court Thursday.
Michael Carroll’s case versus the town of Ashland was heard in Benton County Circuit Court Thursday, and after hearing evidence, Judge John Gregory dismissed the Bill of Exceptions.
Carroll filed the bill in which he alleged a number of possible irregularities related to the Dec. 18, 2012, election regarding the legal sale and possession of liquor within the city limits of Ashland. In the election, the proposed legal sale and possession of liquor was defeated in a 120-109 vote. Town officials maintained there was no wrongdoing on their part.
