CORINTH — Law enforcement officials say this week’s arrest of a Corinth woman on drug-related charges is part of an ongoing effort to crack down on the sale of drugs to children.
Alcorn County Narcotics Unit Investigator Darrell Hopkins said Danita Switcher was charged with sale of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a daycare facility and child abuse.
Hopkins said the child abuse charge was included because a child was present during one of the alleged drug sales.
The investigator said the sheriff’s department is determined to make an impact on the drug trade involving juveniles in the county. He said another juvenile was also arrested this week and charged with sale of a controlled substance and more such arrests are forthcoming.
