BALDWYN – Fire officials are investigating what caused a Tuesday afternoon fire blamed for considerable damage to the Waters Funeral Home.
Baldwyn Mayor Danny Horton said it appears the fire started in a back storage room.
It's unknown how badly the building on North Second Street, was damaged but Horton said because of water and smoke damage, it was extensive.
Opened in downtown Baldwyn in 1918, Waters Funeral Home is one of the oldest businesses in the town, according to Horton.
Fire departments from Baldwyn, Guntown, Ingram and Pratts assisted in putting out the fire.
