AZALEA TOUR: The 2009 Azalea Tour, sponsored by East Heights Garden Club, will begin Saturday and continue through April. The tour begins at the Elvis Presley birthplace. Follow the Azalea Tour markers through East Tupelo and pick up tour maps at the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau and the birthplace. Information: 844-4485 or 871-1384.
AZALEA FESTIVAL: The ninth annual Presley Heights Azalea Festival will be Saturday with a Gigantic, Eclectic Yard Sale commencing at day break, a 5K run at 8:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. Smitty Harris, former prisoner of war, will open with a military ceremony at Veterans Park. Vendors, food, children’s entertainment, live music and a “rumored” Elvis appearance.

BREAKFAST WITH EASTER BUNNY: The Saltillo Junior Women’s Club is hosting breakfast with the Easter bunny at Knight’s Restaurant in Saltillo. The breakfast, from 7:30-10 a.m., includes pancakes, sausage and drink. Tickets are $5 at the door. The Easter bunny will be available for photos with children. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras. Proceeds go to the Saltillo City Park playground fund.
PLAYGROUND DEDICATION: Dedication ceremonies for Saltillo City Park’s new playground, “The Jungle,” will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in conjunction with the city Easter egg hunt at the park. There will be a balloon release, face painting and concessions.

MASTER GARDENER SERIES: The Master Gardener’s Learning Series will offer a class on Plant Progataion at 6 p.m. Donna Tucker, Master Gardener, will demonstrate how to plant seeds, transplant seedlings, take cuttings and do layering and division. Carl Oglesby, Master Gardener, will demonstrate grafting. The class will be at the Lee County Extension Office, 5338 Cliff Gookin Boulevard. There is no charge for the class but you need to sign-up by calling 841-9000.

VOLLEYBALL BREAKFAST: The Tupelo Middle School Volleyball Boosters are hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast April 18 at Applebee’s. Breakfasts are $5 per person and served between 8 and 9:30 a.m. Fundraiser for replacement uniforms, gym shoes and practice volleyballs.
