ABERDEEN – Former New Albany attorney Timothy Balducci awaits transfer to another federal prison at an Oklahoma City facility, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons Web site shows.
Balducci’s been held in the Monroe County Jail since last summer, when he and other potential witnesses were gathered for the possible trial of then-Hinds Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter, accused of lying to the FBI.
After DeLaughter pleaded guilty, everyone but Balducci went back to their original prisons.
Monroe Jail Administrator Danny Starks said BOP personnel “just came and got him” on Jan. 19, although the web posting appeared only recently.
Thursday, it wasn’t clear where Balducci will serve out the rest of his sentence for a guilty plea in the attempted bribery of Judge Henry Lackey.
He’s scheduled for discharge Dec. 19.
