Baldwyn man charged in Tupelo club shooting

Darwin Penrose, 24, of Cemetery Road in Baldwyn has been charged with murder and is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond in connection with the shooting New Year’s Day morning in Tupelo.

At about 1:39 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at Club I-Con at 2207 McCullough Boulevard.

When they arrived on the scene officers found a victim lying on the ground at the entrance of the business with an apparent gunshot wound. Bradley Triplett, 20, of Tupelo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The murder is the third in Tupelo in two years, after going more than three years without one in the city.
