Bank, police team up for security talks

TUPELO – Renasant Bank and the Tupelo Police Department teamed up Tuesday for safety and security.
B.B. Hosch, division president for Renasant, said the bank has regular staff meetings to talk about employee and customer safety because it’s a primary goal for the bank. Hosch took safety a step further by giving employees a more in-depth training session on safety with police.
“We wanted Chief (Tony) Carleton and the police department to come in and make the safety presentation to our employees so we can all be on one page just in case something does happen where we’d need their assistance,” said Hosch. “We hope nothing ever happens, but we want to make sure we are prepared for it just in case it does. That’s why we spend a lot of time on safety training.”
Carleton said when businesses team up with police to discuss safety, the result is usually a better understanding of what should be done if and when safety issues occur.
“We are glad Renasant asked us to come in and help with their safety presentation because safety is very important, especially for businesses like banks,” said Carleton. “Preparedness and prevention are what we want to stress in presentations like this one.”
