JACKSON — Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says he’s calling a special legislative session to begin Friday for at least one economic development bond issue.
Barbour made the announcement during a news conference Monday. Barbour said he will release details about the project or projects on Wednesday.
The governor controls the agenda during legislative sessions. Barbour, a Republican in the final year of his second term, has used special sessions for economic development projects in the past.
The legislature usually meets beginning in January.
