STARKVILLE — Mississippi State University is working to rid the Hathorn Hall dormitory of bats.
Students have emailed cellphone video and pictures of the bats flying through the dorm.
University spokesman Sid Salter tells WTVA-TV in Tupelo that officials must follow certain policies to get rid of the pesky creatures. He says MSU is keeping students and parents advised about the situation.
Officials say they have installed devices that allow bats to exit the building and not re-enter. Workers have filled holes and crevices with expandable foam to keep the bats from getting inside.
Students have the option to move to another dorm until the situation is resolved.
Students have been told to leave the bats alone and report sightings.
